Saw Great Gatsby this weekend
The funniest part was when the credits started rolling and some middle-school aged girls behind me proclaimed:
“That was terrible! I didn’t get it at all!”
Naturally, I giggled a little, because the movie is based off the great American novel, and re-imagines the source material quite well. I also figured these girls were too young to have read it in school yet to be familiar with it.
But it made me think; what have I dismissed that others believe I don’t ‘get’?
There’s no authority to simple opinions. I can proclaim as many opinions as I’d like and not worry what others may think of it. But I’d like to know if I’m missing out on something, or if it’s going over my head, just as I thought it did for these young girls.

Summer To Do List
I make short-term ones all the time; might as well make a seasonal one!
Things I want to accomplish this summer:
-kick butt at my internship
-regularly exercise
-master making macaroons
-read at least 3 books
-get a healthy, natural tan
-make all those things on Pinterest I never have the time for
Seeing as I’m staying home with my family this summer, it should make it a little easier to accomplish these things. At least that’s what I’m hoping!
Hearing what your voice sounds like recorded, and realizing that’s what everybody hears when you talk.
